The Foster Marketing Journey
As we reflect on this special time of year, we’re also celebrating a significant milestone: 45 Years of Service, Relationships and Marketing Innovation.
Forty-five years ago, the marketing world was all handshakes, face-to-face meetings and a world without digital marketing. Today, it’s a complex digital ecosystem driven by AI and algorithms. Yet, the core principles that launched Foster Marketing in 1980, trust, transparency and relationships, remain as relevant as ever.
A Journey of Growth
Founded by George Foster as the Foster Agency in Lafayette, Louisiana, the agency began with a focus on the energy industry. Founder George Foster said, “I realized that most successful ad firms had a niche. We picked an industry segment of the process industries: oil & gas, which allowed us to expand horizontally.” By 1995, Foster Marketing Communications had expanded beyond traditional advertising into broader marketing efforts and focused its sights beyond domestic borders.
Strategic growth followed, with a Houston office opening to serve the energy corridor and, later, an international presence with boots on the ground in the UK. By 2010, Foster Marketing had fully embraced its identity as a global, full-service marketing firm, bridging the U.S. and international markets.
Tiffany Harris purchased Foster Marketing from George after nearly 25 years with the firm, marking a proud milestone in the company’s history and continuing its legacy of integrity, transparency and strong relationships. Today, as President and CEO, Tiffany leads Foster Marketing with a hands-on, relationship-driven approach, combining deep industry expertise with a forward-thinking mindset. Her leadership focuses on growing people, clients and partnerships while honoring the values that have defined Foster for more than 45 years.
In the last decade, the firm has diversified into adjacent industries such as utilities, infrastructure and manufacturing, thereby ensuring multiple paths for stability and growth. “We have been extremely fortunate to grow along with our clients, expanding our knowledge and skillsets, while ensuring their growth and success. The lessons learned and expertise gained through our energy roots has served us well, allowing us to evolve with the everchanging landscape of the markets we serve,” adds Harris.
Celebrating 45 Years of Connections
This milestone wasn’t marked by a single event, but by a series of unique celebrations that reflected the diverse personality of our team and our clients. We gathered at four different venues, enjoying everything from tailgating at a Louisiana football game, to chipping contests at Top Golf, to family day at the Houston Zoo and wrapping it up with a lively round of Wine Bingo at a wine bar in Houston.
The goal wasn’t extravagance; it was gratitude. These gatherings provided a rare opportunity to step away from the office and focus on the people who made this journey possible. Employees, clients and partners came together to reconnect, share stories and simply enjoy the relationships we’ve built over nearly half a century.
“It’s not about how much you spend, what you do or where you do it,” Harris reflects. “It’s about having the opportunity to thank those who helped us get here 45 years later.”
Old-School Values Still Work Today
While the marketing landscape has shifted dramatically, Foster Marketing thrives by sticking to its core values. “It’s all about honesty, transparency and relationships,” Harris says. “We take great pride in our client longevity and the referrals that we receive, as it validates the quality of our work, the relationships we have built and the value we bring.”
This philosophy extends to Foster’s internal culture too, where employees are encouraged to ask questions, set personal and professional goals and build genuine relationships. “I truly love getting to know the people around me, whether it’s the internal team, our customers or our vendor partners, and I encourage our team to delve deep into their relationships, as knowing who you work with makes the work you do better and so much more worthwhile,” Harris shares.
Adapting to Change
The digital revolution has been the firm’s biggest opportunity. From print to digital to AI-driven marketing, Foster Marketing has continually adapted, and will continue to adapt. “The biggest difference is how we communicate,” Harris observes.
While embracing AI and automation, Foster Marketing emphasizes the irreplaceable value of human insight. Harris admits that AI brings something new to the table, with a lot of opportunity, but Harris also feels that it will never replace the human element. “A feeling, an emotion, an expression, a handshake, they are all so much more impactful when experienced and communicated through real-life human interaction,” she says.
Looking Ahead
As Foster Marketing celebrates 45 years, the focus is on the future:
1. Client Growth
2. Technological Navigation
3. Expanding Skillsets
4. Market Opportunities
Reaching 45 years for a business is rare. It requires resilience, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to quality. Foster Marketing has proven you can evolve while maintaining a culture of honesty, trust, transparency and humility. “Every day brings opportunities to grow and learn, it’s what you do with those opportunities that will determine what lies ahead,” Harris says.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. Here’s to the next chapter and the next milestone.

Words of Wisdom From Leadership: Past and Present
George: “When I started Foster Agency in 1980, my vision was simple: do great work and grow the business. I always had an entrepreneurial fire, but building something that lasts, a legacy business, requires more than hustle. It requires evolving, finding a niche as we did in oil and gas, and empowering a great staff to deliver extraordinary results. Passing the torch to Tiffany ensures that the legacy continues. She has embraced the vision, expanded it and is leading the company with a commitment to innovation that makes me confident we’ll be celebrating our 50th anniversary and beyond.”
Tiffany: “The Foster Marketing mentality has always been simple: build brand equity through honesty, transparency and a relentless commitment to our relationships. While we must constantly evolve to navigate a digital world, technology will never replace the human connection that defines true partnership. We honor our 45-year legacy not by standing still, but by using our core values as the foundation to boldly innovate for the future by growing our people, serving our clients and above all, leading by example every step of the way.”
